Appreciation is the root of many things. I think when we are raising children it becomes an important task to preserve their appreciation rather than teaching them appreciation. Children are born with the innate ability to live in wonder and amazement. However as children grow up they learn to make judgements and many events become mundane. Judgements are useful for protection and decision making but they also breed ignorance. Appreciation allows people to learn better and faster, to accept new ideas or culture or people. When we appreciate the art we are learning we embody the art, instead of copying mechanically. Appreciation allows people to live in optimism. Appreciation brings the colours out. Appreciation will make life interesting and even in the dullest of moments, life can be fruitful.
Maybe wisdom is aged appreciation.
